Article 15 of Organic Law 3/2007, of 22 March, for effective equality between men and women, establishes a general mandate for all Public Powers to mainstream the principle of equality in the treatment of men and women.

Mainstreaming the principle of equality is a priority for the Ministry of Justice.​
