• These meetings are part of the 10th OECD Global Roundtable on Equal Access to Justice, held from today until Friday at the Royal Collections Gallery in Madrid.
The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños, held three bilateral meetings today with representatives of the governments of Portugal, Canada and Türkiye to reinforce Justice cooperation. The meetings occurred within the framework of the 10th OECD Global Roundtable on Equal Access to Justice, organized by the Ministry in collaboration with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
At the first bilateral meeting, the Minister sat with the Minister of Justice of Portugal, Rita Alarcão Júdice, to analyze matters such as cooperation in digitization or the future collaboration to co-organize the 2030 World Cup. The Rule of Law and digitization were the focus of the Minister’s second bilateral meeting, with the Vice Minister of Justice of Canada, Shalene Curtis-Micallef.
Finally, Félix Bolaños talked to his Turkish counterpart, Yılmaz Tunç, with whom he signed a joint declaration including a commitment to strengthen judicial cooperation in criminal matters and extradition and share best practices related to the use of technology in Justice.
