Today, Teresa Peramato has been sworn in to the office of the State General Attorney. She is a renowned jurist, specialized in prosecuting gender-based violence crimes, and committed to an efficient Justice that is sensitive to the feminist approach.
Peramato was sworn in before HM the King and in the presence of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, Félix Bolaños. Also attending were the President of the Congress of Deputies, Francina Armengol, and the President of the Senate, Pedro Rollán, as well as the President of the General Council of the Judiciary, Isabel Perelló.
Peramato, who has a Law Degree and more than 35 years of experience in the Prosecutor Career, has devoted a significant part of her professional career to fight against male violence. Throughout her practice, she has fulfilled key functions in specialized Prosecutor’s Offices, advising on and coordinating procedures to protect victims, which has earned her broad institutional and social recognition.
